Dream One:
I was on a beach, a kind of wasteland and in the distance I could see the ocean. On the beach were hundreds of tiny sea turtles and giant fat toads and I had the job of herding all of them into large pens using temporary builders fences.
The turtles were escaping easily due to lack of fences and large heaps next to them, which they could climb and escape.
The toads were really heavy, so heavy in fact that I couldn't lift them for long and the definitely couldn't move by themselves.
When I woke up, I felt as if I had just realized this was just like any other day, groundhog day, so to speak.
Interpretation :
I often see myself as being able to help my close friends and the herding was definitely a parody of this role.
The difficulty that arose from lack of fences could be lack of good advice and the escaping turtles up large hills, were ignoring me, even when I have good advice and still commit to an uphill struggle, not making things easy for themselves. The symbolism of the turtles on was interesting, as most sea turtles come to land to breed, this is the general goal of everyone in life, the path they get distracted from by their own issues and so if they don't breed, they will eventually return to sea without starting their families and missed the purpose of coming to land.
The toads, were what happens to you if you don't commit to life, breeding or whatever fulfills you. This symbolism was very interesting, as the toad is a symbol for avarice or greed in christianity, they have been consumed by their own vices to the point where they can't be helped or herded.
Basically the whole thing showed my view of my role and how arduous it is and that if you don't focus on what really matters in life, then you will transform into a fat, lazy and useless toad!
Dream Two:
I was looking down from the peak of a mountain and could see a mass pit being dug by Roman soldiers. They all got into the pit and put up umbrellas, then a massive lightning strike hit them and they were vaporized.
I then started a retreat, I too was dressed as a Roman soldier and put up an umbrella and was hit by lightning, however I was unaffected and continued to run, now I was running with an accomplice.
The scenery transformed and we were now on a tropical beach by the sea with palm trees and sunny weather. We were travelling across the beach in motorized sleeping bags, racing each other.
We then came to a dirt track and in the immediate distance we could see a lion that was able to stand and run upright on hind legs. We pass it and leave it in the dust.
As we got to the end of the track, we came upon an enclosure, within it was a formation of lion-creatures. We U-turned and headed straight back up the track with the lions in hot pursuit.
In front of me I saw my friend, he had been stopped by the lion-creature we passed before, it reminds me of when you get pulled by police at the side of the road.
Instead of stopping to help and ignoring my friend calling me for help, I belted toward the creature and swerved away at the last second.
I looked to my right and saw my friend had escaped somehow and we continued in our sleeping bags into the sunset, laughing at the whole ordeal.
I saw this dream as expressing my love of life and its' obstacles. My invincibility, shows that as long as you just get on with what you have to do, nothing can stop you.
The lions were obviously authoritarians, the type of people that try to bring you down and make you dig your own grave to nothing.
The reluctance to stop and help my friend, even though he got away afterwards, shows my cunning and calculation and that looking at the big picture is a good thing.
Hope you enjoy reading these, I have some more, but I will post some tomorrow as a consideration for space.
Feel free to post your own dreams and interpretations here and to re-interpret mine.
